I go back and forth between wanting to get my nails done and keeping them clean and natural. For those times that I do want to be girly get a manicure I am always looking for nail lacquers that are safe, yet last and look great. While I was on the LES in New York, I stumbled across this store called Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics! They have a ton of really cool different nail colors and...

On Feb 13, we were lucky enough to spend yet another amazing night with the Marc Jacobs family during NYC fashion week. The show was so fearless and whimsical, it was as though he twisted my childhood fantasy of Alice In Wonderland or Mary Poppins, into adult couture fashion. At the after dinner we ate, danced, and of course The Kills (who I love) were the surprise...

Creating Daily Ritual
Hi everyone!!
Wow, it has been a while since I have posted! I actually have so much to share, but it will come slowly, little bits at a time. Lately, I have been making a conscious decision to bring the idea of ritual into my daily life.
From the moment we wake up, till we go to bed at night, it is always go, go, go. When do we leave space and time to love ourselves and our bodies? When do...

shecooksyousweetpotatoes asked: Hey Baelyn. Firstly, I would like to say that I absolutely adore your blog and your outlook on life! You inspire me and encourage me to be more positive with every aspect of my existence. You often write about treating your body like a temple, only consuming what is good for you. With that in mind, I was just wondering what is your stance on alcohol? Have a lovely day, Laur xx
apacherosepeacock11 asked: What do you use as a healthy alternative to sugar? I'm kind of struggling. Thanks!

Oatmeal
Now that the mornings have been a bit chilly, I have to switch to something a more warming then my trusty smoothie… While my mom was visiting me she made oatmeal every morning and inspired me! Oatmeal is so warm and comforting and really starts the morning right. Here is how I do it!

3 cups of water
1 cup of oats (I use gluten-free oats from Bob’s Red Mill)

These are my friends. Anne Carmack and Jeremy Sole. She is an artist, writer, and photographer. He is a DJ, music producer and radio host on my favorite station in LA, KCRW. She makes me laugh till my belly hurts and his musical exploration has carried me, dancing into another dimension. They live for their art and support each other as...
tofeeltheriver asked: Hi there! Just wanted to say how much I've enjoyed following your blog. It inspired me to create one of my own. When I stumbled upon your recent answer to the important life lesson you've learned, it resonated deeply with me. And so I thank you for that. My question for you is this: when was the moment that you realized you were truly living a life of your own?
undiscovered-ocean asked: Is there anything that makes you genuinely happy? Something or someone that can always put a smile on your face? If you are ever having a really bad day and you feel like nothing can could possibly make it better, is there a way to change your state of mind? Is there any easy way to be positive? This is probably an overwhelming amount of questions, I apologize haha but there is no other blog I...

vintage- everything!!! sans my frames which are Barton Perreira
Went out for a stroll with the dogs on sunday. The white beauty is Bianca, she belongs to my friend Ashley. I found a yummy old U2 concert tee and my little textile bag. The front of the shirt is so worn out that there isn’t even a graphic on it anymore. Wearing my favorite pair of old baggy farmer...

She has a line called American Gold and they are the creators of Spanish Moss. This multi-talented gypsy couple have found freedom in the world and in each other! They are Friends and Lovers…

My mom keeps asking me why I don’t smile in my photos… I realized today as I was alone taking self portraits that it feels really weird to smile while I am taking photos of myself. I am really trying to concentrate on just getting the right picture that a smile doesn’t come out naturally!!!
Hope everyone is having a lovely day :)

nomadsblog asked: Hey! Growing up with three brothers and the beckoning of tree limbs, i've never been one to divulge in nail polish. And I personally find the natural look to be best. Recently however, my intrigue for furthering my own transient self adornment has gotten the best of me. I was curious of any nail polish brands you're fond of you could share that are environmentally and healthily sound....

The Divine Feminine
This is about the importance of your womanhood. Being a woman holds great power and with that comes great responsibility. There is so much to be healed and so much that needs to be nurtured. For so long the Goddess has been repressed, the Divine Feminine forgotten, which has caused such an imbalance in the Father, the Masculine. It has taught him greed and corruption, perversion and hate. The...
