Hi everyone!!

Wow, it has been a while since I have posted! I actually have so much to share, but it will come slowly, little bits at a time. Lately, I have been making a conscious decision to bring the idea of ritual into my daily life.

From the moment we wake up, till we go to bed at night, it is always go, go, go. When do we leave space and time to love ourselves and our bodies? When do we have time to cultivate a love of silence and find stillness and inner peace throughout the day?

There are a few things I have been incorporating into my mornings that really affect the kind of day I have. The two most prominent are “dry brushing” and Tea. I will get into the Tea aspect in a later post, as it is a deeper conversation then I could have ever imagined.

Let’s talk about “dry brushing”! It is one of my new favorite things! Before my showers every morning, I put on some music, drink a huge glass of water, and break out my dry brush. Starting at the feet, you gently brush upwards, always towards the heart, in long smooth strokes. Brush up the shins and calves, past the knees, up the thighs and buttocks. Keep brushing up your tummy and sides, when you start your arms, raise them and start from the finger tips, brushing down toward the heart. Don’t forget the back of your neck and as much of your back as you can reach!! Your skin may be sensitive to it at first, but the more you do it, the better it gets! Afterward, just continue on with your shower or bath. I switched from using a body soap to using some brown sugar and jojoba oil as a body cleanser. It takes an extra 10-15 mins in your morning and is so worth it!! Not only does dry brushing stimulate your lymphatic system, which helps your body eliminate toxins properly, but you will notice after a week or so that the texture of your skin changes. It becomes so soft, silky, smooth, and helps dramatically with cellulite!

The health benefits are endless, but so are the emotional! You are basically coming back to yourself, letting yourself know that you think You are important. It creates a little space and time for self love. Even if it is just 10 mins, in those 10 mins, you open your awareness and will thank yourself for caring!!

Hope everyone is well!
In humble gratitude,
B
